How do you know the age of porcelain if it just says Japan instead of Made in Japan?

I have a beautiful tea set that says Fresh CHINA HAND PAINTED JAPAN with a crown with 5 points….I cannot find this company anywhere and do not know how to date. I understand that about 1948 pieces came to america saying MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN..but i get confused with made in or just japan,…..If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it…..Thank you

well, i think there should be some kind of stamp on the bottom of it and that is by who made it; it can be a any kind of stamp, like a flower. Also, i think you should to go too someone that knows how to date those kind of things, cause they study on that kind of stuff, its their job. They are so good they can just looking at them and tell you the year, by who the porcelain was made by, and place even if it does not say anything on the bottom of the porcelain. They can even tell you if it is a fake, but a fake worth a lot of money cause of the age.
